Pentax 35mm: Nelson Ledges

15 Aug

I have been extremely fortunate to have such giving and thoughtful people in my life who support my passion for photography and trust me enough to let me borrow cameras, and in this case, give me one. This Pentax 35mm camera is a gift from my boyfriend’s grandparents. It had never been used before- strap, lens cleaner, lens cover, and more still in their 1970s packaging. One of the best gifts I’ve ever received.  I don’t travel much, so most of the time I feel as if I don’t have much to photograph, but now that I’ve got this baby all set up, I’m definitely going to be taking more photos.

I hadn’t used a film camera since my Black & White photography class last year, but these photos didn’t turn out too bad. Luckily Walgreens still processes film for a fairly cheap price. I’m not sure if the hazy look of the photos is from the campfire smoke, the humidity, or the expired film I’ve been using.

(BTW- Did you know expired film is being sold online for a high price? I just got a couple boxes handed to me & wasn’t sure if I should use it, so I Googled it, and BAM! Apparently it’s supposed to give photos a neat effect & is sought after.)

These are from Nelson Ledges Quarry Park over 4th of July weekend.

Hopefully I’ll have more film photos to share soon!
